Tic-Tac-Toe

We all know the simple game of Tic-Tac-Toe. This game is very simple, it only took a few seconds to make a little game, and add a AI to it in C.

But the problem that is with regular Tic-Tac-Toe is that two smart players will always tie. This makes Tic-Tac-Toe kinda boring, since the same thing happens over and over again. Now this is where the different versions of Tic-Tac-Toe becomes handy.

If you look at my personal favorite we have ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe, where just from the very start it’s more complicated. Here you have 81 possible start spots, which give the game a little of a twist. Just this little change of having a bigger playing field, makes it so harder to keep getting a tie. But if you and your friend is just that good, and you always tie. You can always just add another ultimate to the game. If you do this you will end up with 729 starting points. And this will make sure you don’t tie all of the games with your friend. That is if you actually finish the game.

Now if we look at the way Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe, is with all the rules it starts becoming a lot more complicated. If we were to just use a random AI, it wouldn’t be that hard to make one. If we take a look at how this was made. Its easy to see that what takes the most space in the code. Is setting up all of the rules, and drawing the board. Now if we had to make a AI, and lets say that it had to be really hard to beat, we have this Ultimate version. If we look at the statistics it’s easy to see that this AI is very hard to beat.

And i was very happy that someone thought of this change to a simple game, so it  got so much harder. And when i thought that this was it, oh boy i was wrong. Then Allan Goff went off and thought of Quantum Tic-Tac-Toe. This went and change the game of Tic-Tac-Toe a bit. If you wanna try it you can see this one.

Now as of me writing i got a good idea, or at least i think it is. What if you take Quantum Tic-Tac-Toe and mixed it with ultimate. So you would end up with Ultimate Quantum Tic-Tac-Toe, the rules is simple, they follow the to. When you put to in entanglement, they dont switch board, it is only when you collapse one and then the one color that you choose to collapse, that board you are sent to. So you can quickly see how complicated you can make a regular game of Tic-Tac-Toe.
